Privacy Policy (Draft)

This policy explains how A&B Children's Publishing, LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("we", "us"), handles personal information on abchildrenspublishing.com and when you buy or sign up with us. This site is written for parents, grandparents and teachers. Apart from the A&B Parent Newsletter sign-up form described below, it has no accounts, comments or advertising. It doesn't use analytics or advertising cookies.
Children's privacy
This site is for adults. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect, use or share personal information from children under 13. Purchases and sign-ups are for adults 18 or older only. If we learn we have received a child's information (for example, a child emails us), we delete it promptly. If you think a child has sent us information, email hello@abchildrenspublishing.com.
What we collect and why
- Email to us: your address and message, used only to reply and keep a record of the request.
- Purchases: name, email address, order details (what, when, amount) and the country and IP address the checkout records for tax and fraud checks. Used to deliver files, handle support and refunds, and keep tax and business records. We never see or store card numbers.
- A&B Parent Newsletter: email address, optional first name, the free sampler you picked, and the date, time and IP address of your signup (a record of your consent). Used to send that sampler and occasional emails about new books and printables. One sampler per email address.
- Website visits: our host keeps basic technical logs (such as IP address and pages requested) to deliver and secure the site. We don't use these to identify you.
We collect only what we need for these purposes and don't use it for anything else without asking you.
Service providers we use
These independent companies handle data on our behalf or for your purchase, under their own privacy policies and terms.
- Payhip runs our printable store, checkout, payment processing and file delivery, and records your name, email, IP address and order details. We never see or store card numbers. For information about how Payhip handles your data, see Payhip's Privacy and Cookies Policy.
- MailerLite runs our email list and sends our emails. The sign-up form on our home, free-pack and newsletter pages loads from MailerLite, only on those three pages. For information about how MailerLite handles your data, see MailerLite's Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare hosts this site and protects it from attacks; it processes request data such as IP addresses. For information about how Cloudflare handles your data, see Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare Email Routing forwards messages sent to our business email to a Gmail inbox, so messages you send us pass through Cloudflare and are stored by Google. For information about how Google handles your data, see Google's Privacy Policy.
- Etsy and Amazon: if you buy from us there, they collect your order and payment information under their own policies. Etsy shares with us only what's needed to deliver your order, and we use it only for that order. Amazon doesn't share book buyers' personal information with us. We don't sell your data
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we don't share it for targeted advertising or profiling. We share it only with the service providers named on this page to run our business, to protect our rights or prevent fraud, or when the law requires.
Emails from us
- Single opt-in: you're subscribed as soon as you sign up, and every email has an unsubscribe link.
- Unsubscribe anytime with the link in every email, or email hello@abchildrenspublishing.com. We act on requests within 10 business days. Every marketing email shows our name and mailing address.
- We never add buyers from Etsy, Amazon or other marketplaces to our list unless they sign up themselves.
How long we keep it
Order records: as long as tax law requires (generally up to 7 years). Email list data: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Emails to us: as long as needed to help you and keep a record.
Security
We use reputable providers, keep access to our accounts limited and protected with multi-factor sign-in where offered, and don't store payment card data. No method of sending or storing data is completely secure, so we can't promise absolute security, but if a breach affects you we will notify you as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask what information we have about you, get a copy, correct it, delete it, or opt out of marketing. Email hello@abchildrenspublishing.com; you don't need an account. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. We'll answer within 45 days, free of charge. If we decline, we'll explain why and how to appeal, by replying to our decision. If your appeal is denied, Texas residents may contact the Texas Attorney General. Some records (such as orders we must keep for taxes) can't be deleted until the law allows.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date shown on it.
